Tribute night to ‘old blue eyes’ at Bideford FC on Saturday, December 12

A special charity night is being held at Bideford Football Club on Saturday, December 12, to celebrate the 100th birthday of Frank Sinatra.

The event at The Robin’s Nest features live music from Sinatra sound-alike ‘Rat Pack Pete’ Geiger plus Casey and Magi’s Magic Karaoke Ensemble, supported by local singing groups.

Proceeds go to Dr Robin Buckland Children’s Holiday Foundation, North Devon Against Domestic Abuse and Winston’s Wish.

‘Old Blue Eyes’ was born in New Jersey on December 12, 1915 and organiser John Barton, of Westward Ho! Music Community, said they were keen to celebrate that.

“People haven’t really grasped the fact that he was the voice of the century and it made sense there should be an event to celebrate that,” he said.
