Catch award-winning singer songwriter Dan McKinnon at The George Hotel on Saturday January 18.
Acoustic music fans are in for a real treat at The George Hotel in South Molton on Saturday (January 18), when award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter Dan McKinnon will be performing in concert.
Dan hails from Nova Scotia, an area rich in the musical and cultural traditions of the North Atlantic, and his warm baritone voice, superb guitar arrangements and original compositions have won him awards and widespread praise.
His performance covers the entire folk spectrum, with themes traditional, historical, contemporary and universal.
The concert is a Shammick Abroad presentation – an offshoot of popular Combe Martin folk and music session Shammick Acoustic.
With 30 years of performing and numerous CDs, Dan has a wealth of experience and knowledge.
He continues to convey his finely crafted songs to audiences old and new, and in addition to solo performances and recordings, his talent has enabled him to perform with Symphony Nova Scotia and in a theatre show about the life and times of the great Canadian songwriter Stan Rogers.
As well as working extensively in Canada, he regularly tours in the UK, and has also ventured a tour of south-eastern Australia.
The gig starts at 8.30pm, with tickets £7 at the door, or in advance from www.wegottickets.com/ShammickAcoustic or call The George on 01769 572514, and Shammick Acoustic on 01271 882366. A special concert night supper can also be booked.
