Barnstaple Dramatic Society have taken it upon themselves to put a chill in the air as they embark on their third summer tour with a comedy thriller to chill those warm summer evenings.Curtain Up On Murder, by Bettine Manktelow follows the misfortunes of an amateur theatre group who, following a routine rehearsal, find themselves stranded in a run down seaside theatre in the midst of a thunder storm."There are many twists and turns" says director Kev Behan, "It's traditional holiday entertainment with all the elements needed to keep audiences e on the edge of their seats ... with skilfully written comedy to diffuse the tension from time to time."This year the society are extending the tour to take in Westward Ho! and Woolacombe as well as their traditional dates at the Landmark Theatre, Ilfracombe.The run,from Sunday, July 13, starts at The Landmark, moves to the Kingsley Hall, Westward Ho! on Tuesday, July 15, on to Woolacombe Village Hall on Thursday, July 17 and then returns to The Landmark on Sunday, July 20."It's something very different to the rest of the entertainment on offer in the area during the summer" comments Kev, " and there's nothing like a bit of a thrill that's for sure!"Suitable for all ages (12+), tickets for the Landmark can be obtained via the Box Office on 01271 324242, and advanced tickets can be reserved for Woolacombe and Westward Ho! by using the Contact Us page at b-mcs.co.uk, or can be purchased on the door prior to the performance.
