A non-stop evening of camp, colour and comedy comes to The Queen’s Theatre in Barnstaple this week in the form of Priscilla: Queen of the Desert.

Opening tomorrow (Wednesday) and running until Saturday, this great romp is destined to have the audiences rolling in the aisles, and dancing the night away.

It is the latest show from the hard-working Barnstaple Musical Comedy and Dramatic Society, with 7.30pm shows each week night and shows at 4 and 8pm on Saturday.

It features iconic floor-fillers such as It’s Raining Men, Venus, Go West and the unforgettable I Will Survive.

Set in Australia, Priscilla tells the story of drag queen Mitzi (aka Tick), who heads across the outback to meet his estranged son, who has no idea what he does after hours.

Taking on the roles of the legendary queens are Jordan Buckingham (Tick/Mitzi), Martin Youngs (Adam/Felicia) and Andrew Jeffrey (Bernadette), and Jordan had nothing but praise for his fellow leading men.

He said: “Working alongside Martin and Andrew has been a sheer joy from start to finish, with every rehearsal full of laughter. The pair are phenomenal and you will be rooting for them.”
