SOUTH & WEST WILTS at Larkhill, Easter Saturday

The ground at Larkhill is currently firm. To ensure the best possible ground for the South and West Wilts Hunt meeting on Easter Saturday the racecourse executive has decided to aggrevate the entire racing line, and other selected areas of the racecourse such as run through’s and the strip used going to post, the day before racing. This will ensure that the course is absolutely level and safe with no sting in the already well cushioned turf. Details of the going will be available on Talking Point throughout the week preceding the meeting.

ESSEX & SUFFOLK at Higham, Easter Saturday

The course has been restored since the last meeting in February, fertilised and topped and is in good condition. There is a good grass covering over the whole course. The course is going to be aerated later this week and 2”of water will be applied on the lead up to the meeting on Easter Saturday. There is rain forecast for this weekend. The aeration and watering should take any sting out of the ground and provide good to firm ground throughout.

The day begins with Pony racing at 1pm with the main racing beginning at 2pm. We have a Novice Riders race as usual with all others races (apart from Club members) being open to all.

Excellent owners prizes have been organised, with all winning jockeys receiving champagne as well as meal out vouchers to a famous local restaurant.

NB Entries close on Sunday 17th April at 10pm

VINE & CRAVEN at Hackwood Park, Easter Monday

The course will be extensively watered in readiness for the meeting on Easter Monday.

Please be advised that there has been a spate of items “going missing” from the riders changing rooms at various point-to-point’s across the country. Please make sure that your valuables are not left unattended and should you see or notice anything suspicious please report it immediately to the Fixture Secretary on the day.

If anyone has picked up a pair of breeches by mistake from the ladies changing room at the East Cornwall meeting at Great Trethew please contact the PPA so that they can be returned to the owner who has been in touch with the office.
