The ‘voice of Dr Hook’ heads to Ilfracombe

Joseph Bulmer

INSTANTLY recognised as the former voice of Dr Hook and an internationally solo artist for the past 26 years, the ever popular Dennis Locorriere returns to the Landmark Theatre in Ilfracombe on Saturday (July 9.)

Dennis Locorriere was lead singer for Dr Hook, a hugely successful band in the seventies and early eighties, with Dennis’ voice gracing more than 50 million records, as the only member of Dr Hook involved with every record ever released.

After the band disbanded he released his first solo album Out Of the Dark in 2000 and won new audiences on a major UK tour.

A prolific songwriter and an in-demand live performer, in addition to his own solo tours both here and abroad, with and without his own band, Dennis has played many festivals including Glastonbury, Cropredy and Guildford and appeared as special guest vocalist and guitar player on the road with Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings.

His shows take in his own solo hits plus the group’s greatest hits, making them universally popular with audiences across the country.

Dennis will be performing at the Landmark with special guest, Emily Maguire, an acclaimed singer-songwriter whose songs have been played regularly on Radio 2 and who has toured with the likes of Don McLean, Eric Bibb and Roddy Frame and Glenn Tilbrook.

Best-known for her strong, thought-provoking lyrics and expressive vocals, Emily’s songs have also won her fans across the globe.

Tickets are priced at 20 and 9.40 for young persons. A 60p Love Arts payment also applies to each seat sold. Call the Box Office on (01271) 324242 or visit
