Testing road for rally drivers

FOUR crews from North Devon took part in the Exmouth Motor Club Equinox Rally, which was

round two of the 2011 ASWMC Road Rally Championships.

They took on a demanding route of 175 miles and more than 75 Time controls and 68 PCs to pre-plot.

Scott Cleverdon was forced to withdraw with an injured hand.

Paul Prance and Luke Batty in their Ford Escort and Nigel and Nick Angrave in a Peugeot 205 eventually went over time limit, leaving John Bartlett and Derek Drayton to carry the North Devon Motor Club banner.

They finished a creditable 15th in their Renault Megane in what proved to be a long and complex rally.

Round three,The Myotis Rally is on Salisbury Plain on the night of April 30/May 1.
