T-Side trounce sorry Otters in Peninsula football

Torridgeside took full advantage of the troubles at Ottery St Mary to record a dominant 8-0 victory in the South-West Peninsula League.Â

The Otters lost their manager and most of the squad to local rivals Sidmouth Town over the Christmas period, but there was no mercy in the Torridgeside ranks, with the three points moving the Donnacroft outfit closer to mid-table safety.Â

The new coaching team at Torrington came away from Honiton Town delighted with a hard-fought point, as they recovered from 2-0 down to earn a deserved draw. Â

It was a frustrating weekend for Ilfracombe Town in the Toolstation Western League, as they went down to a 3-1 defeat at Clevedon Town. Jack Langford was on target for the Bluebirds but manager Clem Bennellick conceded that Clevedon were ‘worthy winners’.Â

A brilliant hat-trick from Bradley Williams, plus a Tom Marsh double and Ryan Sanders strike gave Braunton an excellent 6-2 win at Feniton in the Devon Football League. Â
