Swimbridge scenic fun run

Joseph Bulmer

The popular Swimbridge 10k and 3k Fun Runs will take place on the morning of Sunday, May 22, providing entrants with scenic runs over a variety of terrains and with a great atmosphere.

The 10k is a challenging fun run over a multi-terrain route, up and over hills and including tarmac, dirt tracks, stream crossings and woodland paths.

It has stunning views over Swimbridge and passes through the hamlets of Hannaford, Hearson, Wrimstone and Dennington, taking in old silver mines and Daffodil Valley.

The event is aimed at running clubs and those aged 15 and over.

The 3k is aimed at the 8–14 years age group and is mainly on the road, with a small section on a dirt track on a safe and well marshalled loop. A fancy dress prize is on offer.

The 3k starts at 10am and the 10k starts at 11.30am.

Entry forms and a route map are available on www.swimbridge.com or from Julie Whitton on 01271 830311 or email julie@theyews.org.uk.

All the profits from the fun runs are donated to Swimbridge Village Hall.
