Swimbridge fun run fundraiser

The third Swimbridge Fun Run provided attracted 172 runners for 3k and 10k runs on Sunday.

Seventy one local volunteers helped with the community event, which raised more than �2,000 for Swimbridge Jubilee Hall.

Winner of the 3k was Nathan Squire, who ran it in 12:53 minutes, with Scott Braunton second and Callum Choules third. Callum also came first in the 8 – 11 yrs category. The first female was Rhyan Olivia Silvester, followed by Daisy Waldron and Tabitha Waldron.

First home in the 10k was Ross MacDonald who ran it in 38:39, followed by Martin Colwill, who was the first male over 40, and in third Tony Vesty. The first female was Vicky Skelton in 45:58 and she also won the female over 40. Ally Ayre was second and third was Marilyn Blair, who also took the female over 50 category.

The first Swimbridge runner was Samuel Whitton,15, who ran his first 10k and came 12th in 45:24.
