Suzuki's new S-Cross has a great pedigree and more

An all New Suzuki S-Cross has been unveiled for 2022 and offers all the pedigree of its ancestors together with even higher levels of safety and the latest technology too.

The 1.4 litre turbocharged Boosterjet petrol engine S-Cross is available in auto or manual and in two grades – Motion and Ultra – with Suzuki’s selectable four-wheel-drive ALLGRIP system available on the top of the range Ultra.

What is more, it uses ‘mild hybrid’ 48v technology to act as both a generator and starter motor, assisting the petrol engine during take off for a higher level of torque with 235Nm available from 2,000rpm and up to 3,000rpm.

A bold and more muscular look for the new S-Cross is complemented with a more spacious and versatile interior and Suzuki says it has created even higher standards and safety specifications than the previous model.

Even the standard Motion model is fully loaded, with seven airbags, 17-inch painted alloy wheels, three signature LED projector headlamps for low and high beam.

Polus there is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity, Traffic Sign Recognition, Blind Spot Monitor, Adaptive Cruise Control with speed limiter, keyless entry and start, dual zone auto air conditioning, heated front seats and front and rear parking sensors.

Moving up to Ultra adds 17-inch polished alloy wheels, leather seat upholstery, integrated on-board navigation, panoramic sliding sunroof and further driver safety and convenience with the fitment of a 360 view camera.Â

It also comes with the ALLGRIP ‘Select’ system that offers incorporates four driver-selectable modes for safe, enjoyable driving on a range of surfaces.

An advanced forward detection system is fitted as standard on all S-Cross models which includes Dual Sensor Brake Support (DSBS).

At vehicle speeds from around 3mph to 62mph, if the system determines a risk of collision with a forward obstacle, it issues both an audio and visual warning. If there is a high risk of collision with a forward obstacle and the driver panic brakes, the system deploys brake assist.

Plus for maximum safety, the Ultra comes with a 360-degree four camera system that gives the driver high visibility in a high definition, right around the vehicle.

At the time of release, Suzuki priced the 1.4 Boosterjet Hybrid Motion with manual transmission at £24,999 and £29,799 for 1.4 Boosterjet Hybrid Ultra ALLGRIP with manual transmission. Six-speed automatic transmission available optionally on both grades at £1,350.
