JUNIOR shooters from the Braunton club made their mark at the Welsh Open Air Championships with Craig and Kirstie Attwood taking first and second in Class A air rifle.

They were joined in the final by Luke Smith, taking three of the eight places in the Olympic Final.

In Class B, brothers Jack and Dean Bale each took a first and second place.

Elizabeth Johnson took third place in her pistol class and Ryan Hough also put in a solid performance.

Braunton A beat Teign Valley Rifles in Round 4 of the Devon Winter League, taking the team to second place, ahead of Bideford B.

The team comprised three juniors Toby Manfield, Craig and Kirstie Attwood together with seniors Kevin Luxton and Nigel Rowe, reflecting the recent growth in junior shooting through the development programme with the North Devon Scouts.

Bideford Rifle Club’s three teams remain unbeaten after two rounds of the Devon County Winter League.

|In round two they could not quite emulate their clean sweep of round one.

The B and C teams were again winners, while the A team were held to a draw, despite a 100/100 maximum from Ann Travis.
