North Devon athletes made their mark at the Bude Shoreline Triathlon, which attracted a record 300-plus competitors for the 500m sea swim, 11 mile bike ride and three mile run.
The youth section was dominated by North Devon youngsters, with Sam Wordley, 13, from Ilfracombe Swimming Club the first boy home, with Ryan Lark, 15, from Woolacombe Surf Lifesaving Club in second place.
Eva Murphy, 18, was the winner of the girlsâ€™ section.
A successful weekend for North Devon Tri Club members saw Mark Alderman continue his excellent form, by finishing fourth overall and first in the menâ€™s veterans 40 years category, while Chris Stone has took second in the menâ€™s veterans 40.
Steph Hulford came fourth in the women veterans 40 category and Richard Congdon won the menâ€™s veterans 60 class.
The mixed relay team of Chiara Magarotto (swim), Matt Redmore (bike) and James Winzer (run) stormed home to take first overall.
