North Molton beat Holsworthy in the final of the Torridge Cup

NORTH Molton took a major higher league scalp when they beat Holsworthy in the final of the Torridge Cup on Thursday night.

The North Devon Gazette Premier Division side beat the Carlsberg South West Peninsula Division One (West) finalists 4-2 in a penalty shoot-out in front of around 300 supporters at Torrington’s Vicarage Fields.

The match finished 2-2 after 120 minutes, man-of the-match Ryan Turner and Greg Holland scoring the goals for the Stags.

Ben Keighley, James Campbell, Harrison Baker-Brown and Nick Jones all scored for the Stags in the spot-kick decider, while goalkeeper Gary Kingdom saved one penalty and watched another soar high over his crossbar.
