Stabbing in Ilfracombe - Police appeal launched

Police are investigating an alleged stabbing which took place on Tuesday, May 24, in Ilfracombe.

DI Gary Matthews said: “The victim, a man in his 20s, attended the North Devon District Hospital with serious knife wounds before being transferred to Derriford Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

“Whilst initial reports stated that the incident had taken place in Barnstaple, we now believe that the assault took place in the Ilfracombe area.

“We believe the victim was known to the offender and our enquiries are ongoing.

“A 33-year-old woman from Ilfracombe was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and has been released under investigation.

“We are asking anyone with information to contact police on 101@dc.police.uk or by telephone on 101, quoting crime reference CR/044863/22.”
