North Devon Athletics Club members rubbed shoulders with some of Britain's top athletes when they competed at the Midland Counties AA Birmingham Games over the weekend.Because it is the Bejing Olympics this year a number of the well-known athletes used the Birmingham Games as training events, making them extra exciting and the competition fierce. Famous sprinters Dwayne Chambers, Harry Aikines-Aryeetey and Ryan Mosely all came first in their heats of the 60m. North Devon athletes made sure they got autographs from Chambers and long jumper and pentathlon athlete Kelly Sotherton, who were both interviewed by ITV television.
