ROWERS from Kingsley School in Bideford were in action at the weekend Dorney Lake in Windsor - the venue for the rowing at the 2012 London Olympics.They took part in the annual Ball Cup Races for schools and clubs with less than 40 members. Coach Tina Roberston took six of her crews up to the regatta and was delighted with the performance of all her juniors, with four of the crews securing places in the main final. Top performer was again Junior 15 single sculler Alice Jackson, who took the silver medal in her race.The boys' Junior 18 four of Tom Loka, Tom Pugsley, Thomas Carlyon and Chris Glover, with cox Chris Daniel, recorded a fine fourth place against some top quality crews.Kingsley rowers are off on their travels again in the next two weeks when they will be action at the National Schools Regatta at the National Waters Sports Centre in Nottingham. It will be the final event under the Kingsley School banner this year. In an arrangement with the local Bideford Blues club, the youngsters will then compete in Blues' vests at all the domestic regattas in the South West.
