In a great game of rugby at Pottington Road the Barnstaple youngsters showed encouraging signs for the coming season, with some good tries, all but one run in by the backs.

Winger Justin Southam and full-back Iwan Williams touched down two tries each and others came from Calum Sumners, Charlie Bishop, Lawrence May, Sam Roach and Josh Beech. Ben Vellacott added three conversions and Calum Sumners one.

Man of the Match was Charlie Bishop, playing in the centre for the first time.

The Under 15s also got off to a flying start, winning their opening game 7-0.

It is registration at the club this Sunday, from 10 am. All players need to fill in their paperwork - there is also room for some more Under 14 players, so come on down!
