BIDEFORD Blues sent a good squad of four Four's, two Quads, two Doubles and two Sculls to Wimbleball Regatta on Saturday, the second round of the West of England Amateur Rowing Association calendar.

Their Ladies Junior 16 coxed quad of Hannah and Jessica Myers, Annie Cook, Alice Jackson and cox Zoe Robertson continued the great start to the season they had at Plymouth the previous week with another win, although pushed all the way by Dart-Totnes before winning by half-a-canvas.

Alice continued her winning ways by again winning the Ladies Junior 18 Sculls and Junior 16 Sculls, with clubmate Zoe Robertson coming fifth in this event.

Not to be outdone, other crew members had a great race in the Ladies Junior 16 Doubles, with the A Crew of Jessica Myers and Annie Cook just pipping the B Crew of Zoe Robertson and Hannah Myers.

Pride of the day went to the newly formed Ladies Novice Coxed Four of Kelly Edwards, Amy Alford, Kristy Webbe and Holly Webbe, coxed by Tina Robertson, who won their first race, dictating from the start to finish for an impressive victory. Also recording their second success of the season was the Composite Men's Vet Coxed Four of Neil Pennington, Nigel Cann, Glenn Wilkins and Colin Pennington coxed by Chris Daniels.
