FOLLOWING their disappointing performance at the first West of England championship regatta at Plymouth the previous week, Bideford Reds were delighted to pick up two victories at Wimbleball.

The day's racing was held over a 1,000 metre stretch of the Wimbleball Lake and with no tidal conditions to worry the crews it provided competitors with some excellent racing.

The first win came from single sculler Alastair Peake, who won the Masters category and was closely followed by victory for the Ladies Senior A coxed four of Hannah Bright , Sarah Fellows, Judith Atherton, Rebecca Parkyn and cox Jon Lamont after missing out by just half-a-length at Plymouth the previous week.

There was also a well earned second place for the Junior 14 crew of Miles Lemer, Adam Crowther, Alex Ferrenday, Drew Mackenzie and cox Connor Allsop for their first points of the 2010 championship season..
