Torrington Bowling Club held a charity challenge cup on Sunday with a great turnout.Alan Toogood, treasurer, said: The objectives were to raise money for charity and introduce new people to the game of bowls. Twelve teams of non-bowlers competed for the cup. The teams, consisting of men and ladies, played three rounds to decide the winner. Each team nominated a charity and the winners, Jimmys Boys, received a cheque for £300 for the Devon Air Ambulance. The club hopes to make this an annual event.
