WITH only two weeks to go until the Torridge & DMCC national motocross event at Waggadon Farm, Torrington on April 22, the stage has been set for a bumper day’s racing.

Many top riders and local competitors have entered the two main championship events taking place, the Dave Thorpe EVO Series Championship and the Pre 83 125cc British Championships.

The modern Motocross and Twinshock classes are also looking top class.

With this event marking the 30 year anniversary of the Torrington circuit, the ‘sleeper jump’ that was first used in 1981 is being re-instated. This is a style of jump that was commonly used in that period before the man made jumps seen today. It will be situated near the main spectator area to be sure to provide a good view.

Some of the team organising the event will be at Green Lanes in Barnstaple this Saturday promoting the event and with members happy to chat about the club and what it does. On show will be the three types of machines being race, minus the mud.

Advance admission wrist bands for the event will also be on sale at £5 for adult, with under 14s getting in free. For more information contact Mark Osborne on 07855 954790.
