Torridge Pilot Gig Club were the only North Devon side in action at the Bridport Regatta

Torridge Pilot Gig Club rowers were in action on Sunday at the Bridport Regatta.

The club was the only North Devon club to feature in the 14-boat competition.

Despite only having 16 rowers, Torridge finished fifth overall, following on from their runners-up spot at Appledore last week.

The men’s B race started things off, with the Kerens crew rowing to second place, just short of Brixham.

The A crew came in seventh in their race.

The ladies’ B crew earned a race victory, this time finishing ahead of Brixham, while the A crew came in fifth in the following race.

The veterans and super-vets enjoyed consistent results at Bridport, with all of the men’s and women’s crews achieving top three finishes.

The men’s vets and supervets both came in second, while the ladies achieved second and third respectively.

An eighth place in the mixed race helped the club secure their fifth place overall.

North Devon’s clubs will take part in the Barnstaple Sprint Regatta this weekend.
