TWELVE Bideford Rifle Club members are taking part in the national Polar Bear shooting league - and four of them are leading their divisions.

One other club member is in second place and three are in third in their divisions, with the places unlikely to change with just one round to go.

Oliver Bailet Coombs and Ben Morgan, both in their first competitive season, are both unbeaten at the top of Divisions 20 and 21 respectively and will certainly shoot in higher divisions next year.

Michael Coombs has seven wins and one draw to put him top of Division 13 and Neil Rudkin has a similar record in Division 18.

Adrian Pile lies second in Division 9 while Paul Batten, Yvonne Hoile and Bob Whitmore all holds third places in their divisions.

In the team competition Bideford A lie second in Division 1, the B team are ninth in Division 3, the C team equal second in Division 4 and the D team look set to remain top of Division 6.
