BRAUNTON Target Shooting Club member Craig Attwood was the top junior at the Great Britain 50 Metre International competition at Bisley. Craig, 16, beat his previous personnel best with a score of 1,072 to finish as top GB Junior in the three-position class. The class requires competitors to shoot 40 shots prone, followed by 40 shoots standing and 40 shots kneeling and is considered the hardest shooting discipline. He is a member of the Great Britain Junior Squad and received assistance from the Devon Youth Opportunities Fund in 2007/08 to take part in national and international competitions and training. This source of funding has now ceased and Craig is seeking further sponsorship to help towards his ambition of the 2012 Olympics.
