TWO North Devon boxers won Western Counties titles at the regional championships held in Torbay.Bideford ABC cruiserweight Steve Fiddy had a tremendous victory over Craig Kibble of Forest Oak ABC.Although his opponent had a much better win record, Fiddy dominated from the start. He floored Kibble with a terrific left hook, forcing him to take an eight-count.Although the Forest Oak man was allowed to continue and took up the attack, Fiddy sent him to the canvas again with a left-right combination and the referee stepped in.Combe Martin heavyweight Valentin Bumbul brought home his club's first Western Counties title with victory over Nathan Madge, also from Forest Oaks. Although his opponent did not allow Bumbul to settle and avoided his explosive punch power, the Combe Martin boxer remained determined and gained a points victory.Both local boxers now go on to the England novice quarter-finals in Bristol on November 30.There are still a few tickets left for the Bideford ABC boxing, dinner and cabaret show at Durrant House Hotel on December 5.
