NORTH Devon's Titans gave a battling display away to a strong Bristol side Weston in the

South West Regional Netball League and did not feel the final 44-58 result against them fairly reflected the game.

Titans started shakily and were two goals down within a minute.

But player of the match Julie Fay worked tiredlessly in defence to get the ball up to shooter Louise Lathwell, who didn't disappoint, and at the end of the first quarter they were just 12-14 down. Confidence boosted, they kept up the momentum in the second quarter and were 26-22 up at half-time.

They were still well in contention at the end of the third quarter, just one goal down at 38-39.

But Weston put in an overwhelming final quarter to power to victory.

Titans travel to Bristol side T Js this weekend.
