Bideford 5-3 Clevedon

BIDEFORD stayed away from the wrong end of the South West One table thanks to a 5-3 win over Clevedon.

Despite horrific conditions to play in, both sides performed with no little skill, especially up front.

Defences were on top at both ends of the field and the neutral would have seen little between the sides.

By the end it was hard to tell them apart, although the referee seemed to manage.

Clevedon led first through and Andy Taylor penalty.

Bideford took the lead before the break when No.8 Matt Dennis scored a try from a line-out catch-and-drive move.

There was no scoring at all in the second half.

Bideford travel to Thornbury this weekend.
