CALLING all darts players - and anyone else who wants to score big to help a good cause.Barnstaple Link Rotary Club is planning to launch its sponsored darts marathon event on February 3.The competition is open to anyone who can get a team of four players together, plus a caller and a scorer. It will take place at different venues in Barnstaple as long as there is a dart board and prizes are being donated by Barum Brewery. The object of the competition is to gain the highest score in one hour of non-stop play."This should prove to be a fun evening, with the proceeds being split 50-50 between the teams' chosen charities and the Rotary programme to eliminate polio worldwide," said organiser Alan Curtis. As well as a prize for the highest score, there will also be one for the most sponsorship raised.Barnstaple Link Rotary Club will be welcoming teams from darts leagues and also hope that other bodies such as the fire service, police, social clubs, organisations and friends will also make up teams to put the competition firmly on the map.Entry forms can be obtained by contacting Alan on (01271) 816860 or via e-mail:- sacurtis@talktalk.net or from any Barnstaple Link member.
