LEAGUE leaders Adjudicators increased their lead at the top of the North Devon Table Tennis League after beating Misfits 7-3, but they lost their 100% doubles record.

Artics also had a 7-3 victory as Smugglers were unable to contain them, and Holsworthy A made it tight in the middle of the table with their win over Castle Knights.

Division 2 Rowdies inflicted the first defeat of the season on Cruisers by the narrowest of margins. They took the honours in the fifth game of the doubles.

This enabled Commodores to climb within two points of the leaders with their defeat of Monks.

Result of the day must go to Sweenies who took a two-man team to Holsworthy B and won 6-4, Alan Briggs leading the way supported by a superb double from Rod Thomas.
