A BUSY summer awaits youngsters who would like to attend some of the 100-plus courses on offer with North Devon District Council's Supersport activities. The five-week programme is aimed at providing children aged up to 15 years with a range of activities

A BUSY summer awaits youngsters who would like to attend some of the 100-plus courses on offer with North Devon District Council's Supersport activities.The five-week programme is aimed at providing children aged up to 15 years with a range of activities to keep them active throughout the summer holidays.Along with traditional favourites such as football, cricket, tennis and badminton, there are adventure days at Skern Lodge, pony days, trampolining, kayaking, mountain boarding and more."Getting children involved in sport is a high priority for the council so it's important to make sure we continue to offer an exciting and varied programme," said Cllr David Butt, Lead Member for Cultural Services. "It not only keeps them busy, but it also helps to improve their general fitness and wellbeing."The council and Parkwood Leisure, which runs North Devon Leisure Centre, have joined forces to create a Summer Supersport brochure, available at schools and leisure centres across the district or via www.northdevon.gov.uk/recreation/sportFor more information or to a book, call the Leisure and Health team on (01271) 388216 between 9.30am-4.30pm Monday to Friday.
