Barnstaple’s Wil Hutchens achieves national qualifying times and named MVP at water polo championships

BARNSTAPLE Swimming Club captain Wil Hutchens has enjoyed a successful few weeks, achieving national qualifying times in ASA South West regional Championships.

Hutchens made the grade in both the 100m and 200m backstroke events, a week after helping his Exeter side to water polo success.

The team became plate champions at the national championships in Manchester, where Hutchens was voted ‘most valuable player’. The result means Exeter are now ranked fifth in the UK.
