There was a huge local turnout for the pilot gig rowing at Appledore regatta.

As well as the host club, crews from Barnstaple, Bideford, Clovelly, Ilfracombe and Torridge were all involved during the weekend.

Things kicked off with the men's A race, with Torridge powering through for a win. They beat Appledore into second place, while Ilfracombe came home third.

There were a total of 11 clubs taking part, but it was Torridge who came out on top in the following race, too.

They won the ladies' A event, with Appledore again finishing second and Ilfracombe third.

Ilfracombe notched their first win in the men's B race, with Clevedon second and Appledore third.

Appledore then got a win on the board in the ladies' B, beating Clovelly to the line. Bridport finished third.

In the junior section, Clevedon won the under 14s race and Bude were first in the U16s.
