AFTER a very busy season, many North Devon schools' gymnasts travelled to Taunton for the South West Schools' competition. In the under-13 girls team event, Edgehill College finished second, closely followed by Great Torrington School in third. Grace Woolway (Edgehill), Terri Adams (Torrington) and Lauren East (Edgehill) were placed fourth, seventh and eighth individually. In the under-11 girls, Edgehill were placed fourth, with Brooke Timmins and Kate Edwards finishing eighth and ninth respectively. Edgehill also finished fourth in the under-19 girls team event, with Stephanie Green ranked eighth. Great Torrington teams were placed seventh and eighth. In the separate individual competitions there was success for many of North Devon's gymnasts. Megan Spearman (Orchard Vale) and Shauna Davies (Langtree) took the top two positions in the under-11 girls event.Appledore's Jessica Bailey finished eighth and vaulted to the highest score in her age group. Also ending their season on a high were Joe Taylor-Richards of Edgehill College in the under-11 boys and Anna Charles of St Michael's School in the under-13 girls, both finishing second in their age groups.
