BARNSTAPLE U16s – resplendent in new kit for a new season – demolished Tiverton 60-0 in their first University of Exeter League game of the season.
The first try came after only five minutes when Ryan Dart bulldozed his way over from close range. As the half continued, the Barum front row of Liam Ellis, Joe Dimilow and Kieron Morgan applied great pressure to the Tiverton pack.
With all the pressure the forwards were applying it was a day for the backs to run in some lovely tries, with the centre pairing of Michael Taylor and Gareth Sloman (3) particularly impressive and Rob Hendy scoring a great solo effort.
Chris Kalisz had his best game for a while and George Conway ran strongly.
The U16s are at home to Exeter Saracens this Sunday and will no doubt aim to put them to the sword as well.
