Premiership official Luke Pearce is fronting a recruitment evening at Barnstaple aimed at helping the Devon Rugby Referees Society find new whistlemen.

The society needs to find at least 10 new referees to replace members who retire or move away.

Pearce started at the bottom in 2007 and has risen rapidly through the ranks from the likes of Torrington and Ilfraccombe when he started, to Saracens and Bath on a weekly basis.

Pearce will be talking about his experiences in refereeing at the recruitment evening at Barnstaple on Thursday, December 3.

A free pasty supper will be laid on from 7pm and the presentations will start at 7.30 pm.

Experienced officials, referee trainers and coaches will also be at the evenings.

To help with catering, drop a line to DRRS recruitment officer Conrad Sutcliffe (conradcopy@btinternet.com) if you intend going along.
