KINGSLEY Indoor Bowling Club has won the Ivor Doble Trophy by one point over Plymouth.

The summer league competition was played by six South West indoor clubs. Bill Neal, the Kingsley organiser for the competition, was delighted to have won the competition after coming second to Isca from Exeter last year.

Kingsley men are through to the second round of the Top Club competition after beating Dawlish.

But they went out in the second round of the Denny Plate, losing to Plymouth.

The over-60s were successful, winning three rinks out of four against Torquay United for a 95-73 result.

Kingsley Ladies won their friendly match against Devon County Ladies 85-69 and also took seven points in their Foxlands game against Sidmouth.

Peter Wade and Jeanette Symons have been selected to play for Devon this season.

Peter played at No 3 to Griff Sanders in the Liberty Trophy game between Devon and Dorset, which Devon won by 13 shots. Jeanette has played at No 3 in South West Counties games, in which Devon won all three. She also played in the Atherley Trophy, in which Devon lost to Cornwall by eight shots.
