ALL four teams at the top of the North Devon Table Tennis League won their latest matches in Division One.Combe IA cut even further into Smugglers' lead at the top of the table after a 9-1 win against Holsworthy.Pete Freeburn prevented the whitewash in the final singles game after Simon Fellows, Dave Svenson and Peter Coates put IA out in front. Misfits made Smugglers fight for the win when they came from 5-1 down to within a point of the draw.But Smugglers were once again triumphant in the doubles. Riaz Latif and Matthew Thomas scored two each, giving Smugglers a 4-6 win. Smugglers' six-point cushion at the top of the table could guarantee them the title next week.Arctic Monkleighs ended their recent run of bad results, defeating Sussex Smashers 7-3. Michael Sussex and Tony Beal were unbeaten. Tornados' 4-6 defeat by the Adjudicators means they now need a good win against Holsworthy in their next match to avoid finishing at the bottom. Tornados' Kevin Taylor got the better of Paul Laverty before going down unexpectedly to Marlon Frankson in his best win of the season.
