Bad weather forced the annual Round Lundy sailing race to be postponed for 24 hours and it went ahead on Sunday, with a reduced fleet of 27 boats, including a strong contingent from Wales.

The cannons were fired by Kim White, wife of Steve White, the Vendée Globe ocean sailor.

The Mason Trophy for the first Ilfracombe boat home went to Haze and her skipper Mark Sylvester. It was presented by Harry Clemence, the grandson of the trophy donors Anne and John Clemence.

Other trophies were presented by the Mayor of Ilfracombe Rod Donavon, including to the overall winner Hidden Secret from Cardiff.

Class 3: 1, Hidden Secret; 2, Bright Flyer; 3, Coquette.

Class 2: 1, Mood Tide; 2, Haze; 3, Shadow.
