SOUTH Molton have it all to do to reach the Devon One promotion play-offs after losing 40-13 at Plymstock.
For OPM defeated relegated St Columba to go past them into second place with one round of fixtures to play.
South Molton are now one point behind OPM with a home game against Salcombe to go on Saturday week, while OPM are away to Topsham on the same day.
South Molton’s recent good form had seen them force their way into second spot but they were powerless to stop a rampant Oaks who have now won five league matches in a row.
Despite getting the first points through a Jamie Stoneman penalty the visitors were distinctly second best in the first half.
OPM were 22-3 up at the switch round and pulled further ahead in the second session.
South Molton upped their game in the second period and came back into the game with a penalty from Stoneman, followed by a try for flanker Ed Verney, converted by Stoneman.
But it wasn’t enough.
