ROTARY clubs throughout the county have teamed up with the Devon Schools Association to organise a countywide 20/20 cricket competition for under-13s.North Devon and Torridge are being represented by Bideford College, St.Michael's School, Grenville College, Holsworthy College, Shebbear College, Great.Torrington School, Pilton College and West Buckland School among the 32 entrants.Last year the competition had to be abandoned at the finals stage due to the weather conditions, despite three attempts. The organisers are crossing their fingers that the finals to be played at the Cornwood Cricket Club near Plymouth on June 26 will have better luck."It was a real problem last year and we even tried to re-organise the final in September but the children had all moved on from their school by then so we had to abandon it", said organiser Eddie Dymond from Barnstaple.Rotary clubs throughout the county have sponsored the event even down to providing the cricket balls.
