Woolacombe hosted it’s annual Beach Breaker on Sunday

More than 100 riders came to Woolacombe for the 2016 Beach Breaker.

The bike race, which was the third round of the South West XC Series and Regional Championships, featured a gruelling climb up Potters Hill.

The main race was won by Malvern’s David Creber, who completed the race in one hour, seven minutes and 35 seconds.

He was followed by Southfork racer Harry Snow, who came in two minutes later.

In the women’s race, Iwona Szmyd from Gloucester took the regional championship title in one hour, 23 minutes and 25 seconds, beating Sophie Hemming by 18 seconds.

The fatbike race was won by Barnstaple’s Stephen Roundhill, who completed the four-lap course in one hour, six minutes and 30 seconds.

A kids’ course was also set out for the event, with the help of Fullabrook CIC.

Barnstaple’s Max Stanten came second in the U10 boys’ race, while Amy Pullen came first in the U12 girls’ race.
