MONTHS of uncertainty is over for Bideford Rifle Club, with news that it has been granted a two-year extension of its use of the range at Moreton House.

The county association will also benefit as at least eight club members shoot regularly for Devon and the club is also able to again accept new members for its beginners coaching course and hold open evenings for interested groups.

Bideford C team maintained their unbeaten record in the National 50 metres Summer League to ensure the Division 26 title is theirs, with one match still to shoot.

The A and B teams are faring less well, both losing their penultimate round matches.

Bideford A 1,922, Bedford A 1,951; Bideford B 1,894, Appleton E 1,899; Bideford C 1,895, Colchester D 1,829.

Jon Morris and Michael Coombs both lead their divisions in the Cumbria Long Range League and with one round to go Michael is assured of his divisional title, 16 points clear of his nearest rival. Jon leads his division by three points, with six available in the final match.

Keith Kersey is assured the Division 3 title in the Cumbria Bench Rest League, holding a 23-point advantage with one round to go. Clubmate David Morgan is in second place in Division 4.
