Bideford 43-7 Coney Hill
BIDEFORD effectively ended their relegation worries once and for all with a 43-7 win over Coney Hill.
Six wins in the last seven starts have hoisted Bideford 13 points clear of the drop zone.
“If we had gone better at the start of the season, that’s promotion form,” claimed team manager Dave Harris.
After going behind briefly to a penalty, Bideford were soon ahead and by half time sat on a 19-8 lead. The second half was one-way traffic.
Hooker Dave Evans was mauled in for the first try then James Buckland crossed in the corner.
Sam Olde ran in under the posts just before the break for Ollie Wickett to add his second conversion.
Harvey Brown was next to score in the middle of a driven maul.
An overthrown line-out presented scrum-half Chris Snell with a try the Brown trundled over for a second.
Finally, centre Luke Hoyle barged over for a try on his last outing before he goes to South Africa for a month.
Wickett finished with four conversions.
