Bideford’s problems at the bottom of the A Division table continued as they went down by eight-wickets at Lewdown.
Lewdown haven’t been having the best of seasons themselves and the game was on Bideford skipper James Ford’s to-win list.
That didn’t look too likely after Bideford were bowled out for 117 in the 42nd over, and so it proved.
Bideford are now 27 points away from safety with pressure mounting to get a first win.
There was no sign of the carnage to come as Dan Barratt (23) and Josh Roach (29) put on 65 for the first wicket.
Both openers went in the space of seven balls and the slide was on.
Some batters hung around – Paul Heard used up 43 balls making eight and Alex Hannam was in 32 balls for seven – while others were in and out quickly.
No one made more than Heard as Johan Wessels (2-21), Billy Searle (3-30) and Leon Horn (3-15) skittled Bideford.
Jack Williams was a first-over casualty when Lewdown batted and skipper Harry Geering was in and out for a dozen.
Third-wicket pair Wessels (52) and Searle (45) made 100 unbroken as Lewdown raced to victory in 17.4 overs.
Bideford entertain Budleigh this Saturday.
