The top-of-the-table clash in Devon Two between Ilfracombe and Torrington ended in a 6-6 draw.A 200-strong crowd turned out to watch a pulsating North Devon derby at Brimlands. Two points each means there is no change with the sides still one and two in the standings respectively. Torrington were looking for a win in order to overturn their hosts in the league standings and they did go in ahead at the break thanks to Sam Brittons two penalties. Ilfracombe responded with one from Dan Brierley. Brierley struck again in the second period. His kick turned out to be the only scoring of the second half as both sides played out a draw. Ilfracombe make the 220-mile round trip to Dartmouth this Saturday three weeks after Dartmouth cried off making the journey in the opposite direction. League chiefs are proposing a rule change next season which will force Dartmouth to go to Ilfracombe in what should have been their home game if they dont travel away. Torringtons pursuit of the second promotion place continues with a home game against bottom-of-the-table DHSOB.
