Pete Vincent from Braunton thwarted Blake Pond’s attempt at a hat-trick of wins in the North Devon Wheelers-Southfork 10-mile time-trial race series.
He came home first among a 40-strong field in 21minutes 33 seconds – with Pond just 17 seconds behind.

Ray Retter’s aim for the over-60s championship looks more secure after finishing 13th in 24.32 to put nearly five minutes between himself and nearest age-group rival Graham Macdonald from Fremington.
Teenager Sean Henderson from Braunton (25.04) was disappointed with 17th position, despite being the fastest junior and driving a secure 1min 35secs barrier between himself and nearest age-group rival Justin Wright.
Zoe Betteridge rode the fastest woman’s time (25.19) to finish.
Dylan Smith (27th in 27.08) gained maximum points in the U14 age group, nearly two minutes better than nearest rival Evan Rouse.
