North Devon’s Craig Overton has been called up to the England One-Day squad.

The Somerset all-rounder will replace the injured Liam Plunkett for the ODI series against New Zealand.

Plunkett was ruled out of Sunday's T20 fixture in Hamilton as well as the five subsequent ODIs by the ECB on Friday due to a recurring hamstring strain.

The 23-year-old Overton, who made his Test debut against Australia in December, joins all-rounder Ben Stokes in the squad.

Overton has already been named in England's Test squad, which tours New Zealand in March for two warm-up matches and two tests.

He impressed with bat and ball in an otherwise forgettable series for the tourists. In the two Tests he featured, he took six wickets and scored 62 runs.

His involvement in the series was cut short by a rib injury, which he has now recovered from.

The first ODI takes place on Sunday, with play starting at 1am.
