NORTH Devon's title prospects were dented by a losing draw at Plymouth which leaves them 19 points behind pacesetters Sidmouth with two games to go.

Plymouth skipper Callum Whittaker led from the front with 80, and George Stephenson chipped in with 45, as Plymouth made 202 for nine in a game trimmed to 47 overs each due to bad weather.

North Devon were 156 for nine when their overs ran out, spun to a turn by Nick Reed (4-22).

North Devon had one slump from 78 for one to 81 for four, then another from 101 for four to 114 for seven, which was when their chances of winning evaporated.

Hooper picked up both of North Devon's main run scorers, Dan Bowser (34) and Rob Ayre (40). Craig Overton (23) defied everything Plymouth bowled at him until Ben Robins had him caught behind at 156 for nine in the penultimate over.

Last pair Ollie Hunt (10no) and Mark Overton - Craig's dad - patted back the final nine overs to earn the draw.
