Former Premier Division leaders Exeter could only draw with mid-table North Devon and are now in danger of being overhauled by Sidmouth for second place.

Sean Langford made 46 and Richard Nelsey 42 in Exeter’s 40-over total of 202 for six. Jay Corden bagged three for 46.

North Devon replied with 140 for eight – McAuley Harrison-Hooton (37) and Corden (37) the main contributors.

Pick of the Exeter bowlers with four for 15 was slow left-armer Steve Milne.

SANDFORD 2nd XI can look forward to Premier cricket again next season after clinching promotion from the A Divisionwith a three-wicket win over Braunton.

Gary Abdoll took three for 23 as Braunton were bowled out for 112. Brian Leach then hit 51 with Taylor Latham’s three for 24 the only hindrance on the chase.

Hatherleigh fell apart against Bradninch and crashed to a five-wicket defeat.

Only veteran Terry Reynolds (24no) got past 20 as Hatherleigh went from 56 for five to 106 for seven and 107 all out.

Simon Bailey took three for 19 and there were two wickets each for Luca Fencl and Phil Chappell.

Billy Leathes (23) and Billy Wakeley (32) were the main run getters in the 20 overs used to wipe out the deficit.

BIDEFORD came off badly second best in their B Division match against Sidmouth and remain bottom of the table with two game to pick up 21 points to reach safety.

Greg Chaplin (71no) and Simon Sobczak (64) put on 115 for the third wicket in Sidmouth’s 213 for three.

Graham Munday dereailed the Bideford chase by reducing Bideford to 28 for three on his own.

John Weeks (28), Marten Stanbury (28) and Fred King (28) effected a fightback, but from 90 for five Ian Thomas (3-14) and Sonczak (3-15) took charge as Bideford were dismissed for 153.
